Kukuru Misakino, an 18-year-old high school girl working in an aquarium, meets Fuuka Miyazawa, a former idol who lost her place in Tokyo and escaped. Fuuka will spend her days in the aquarium with her own thoughts in mind. However, the crisis of closing is approaching for the aquarium, as the girls explore their dreams and reality, loneliness and friends, bonds and conflicts.

During her break, she spends time sending emails to people she knows, including her ex-boyfriend Eiji Morikawa. She then receives an email from a mysterious person, Shinoda. That email states that her ex-boyfriend Eiji Morikawa died. She is also surprised to learn that his will states that his entire fortune will be handed over to the person who killed him. Reiko Kenmochi devises a plan to split her ex-boyfriend's fortune with Shinoda, turning Shinoda into Eiji Morikawa’s killer.

Jūzō Haikawa, the long-missing owner of the estate, immediately becomes the prime suspect. Saeki collaborates with a woman named Kanon Hasumi, who has a connection to Haikawa, and together they search for the truth behind the case. In a parallel story set in Tokyo seven years after the case, a girl with a connection to the mark left on the Haikawa estate runs away from home.
