Dan McKernan relocated from Austin, Texas, to take over his family's 140-year-old farm in Michigan and transform it into the "Barn Sanctuary," a place for farm animals that have experienced abuse, neglect and more; the show follows Dan and his family as they learn the ropes of their new life on the farm and give the barnyard animals a second chance at life; it also documents his travels across the country to rescue barn animals.

Following on from the hugely popular Out of Town, Old Country saw Jack Hargreaves continue his exploration of rural life in Thomas Hardy country – reflecting on its character, traditions, history and folklore, and the skills that had passed from generation to generation.

Farmer Wants a Wife is a U.S. reality television series, based on the same-name British program, in which a bachelor farmer chooses a potential romantic partner among a group of 10 single city women. The series premiered on The CW network on April 30, 2008. It was cancelled on June 25, 2008. The U.S. version consists of 8 episodes, during which 10 women are trying to be chosen by a bachelor farmer. In that the format differed from the other international versions. Shooting locations in USA were St. Charles, Orchard Farm and Portage des Sioux, all in Missouri.

Edwardian Farm is an historical documentary TV series in twelve parts, first shown on BBC Two from November 2010 to January 2011. It depicts a group of historians trying to run a farm like it was done during the Edwardian era. It was made for the BBC by independent production company Lion Television and filmed at Morwellham Quay, an historic quay in Devon. The farming team was historian Ruth Goodman and archaeologists Alex Langlands and Peter Ginn. The series was devised and produced by David Upshal and directed by Stuart Elliott. The series is a development from two previous series Victorian Farm and Victorian Pharmacy which were among BBC Two's biggest hits of 2009 and 2010, garnering audiences of up to 3.8 million per episode. The series was followed by Wartime Farm in September 2012, featuring the same team but this time in Hampshire on Manor Farm, living a full calendar year as wartime farmers. An associated book by Goodman, Langlands, and Ginn, also titled Edwardian Farm, was published in 2010 by BBC Books. The series was also published on DVD, available in various regional formats.

Some a-list celebs appeared (Too Short, Treach from Naughty By Nature, Jenna Jameson, Scott Stapp from Creed, JoJo from K-Ci and JoJo and Ghostface Killah for instance).
