It beautifully draws the parallel between the great music of the composers, the historic and social upheavals of their times, as well as the "smaller stories" of the successive generations of Ricordi.

Unfettered by conventional story-telling, Janáček wrote his own libretto, freely weaving together a series of stories of everyday prison life and of the fates of individual convicts.

In the magical world of dancing fireflies, we follow the story of the main character - naughty Svätojanek, which takes place against the backdrop of the changing seasons. Every year, the Berliner Philharmoniker hold a kind of classical-music fête with a bright, cheerful concert to end the season. The Waldbühne in Berlin, one of the most appealing outdoor amphitheatres on the European continent, is the home of the Berliner Philharmoniker’s summer concerts.
