Ane Høgsberg's second solo show is about one of the few things we all have in common: death. We encounter it several times in our lives, and we will all die one day. But how do we want to leave this world? What will be said at our funeral—and can we actually choose the animal we want to be reborn as? When Ane spent three weeks in the spring of 2018 fearing she had breast cancer, all these questions bubbled up—not in a scary way, but more like: Do they remember to make enough cake for the funeral reception? What song should be played in the church? And how will my childhood sweetheart take the news? Fortunately, Ane did not have cancer, but it set off a lot of thoughts: What is basically the craziest way to die, and who should definitely not inherit anything when the time comes?

I've always been a nerd. A dyslexic, drawing, role-playing, special education, drug addict... nerd. At least those are the words I would use to describe myself. But am I? Or is that just the story I tell myself? Is my self-image set in stone, or can I change it? Is a life narrative plastic? And maybe it's time we looked at our shared world history in that way. Instead of having one that divides us into groups that are fighting each other in one way or another, maybe it's time we come up with a common story that we can face the future with, together. This is my first DVD. It's a recording of my show from 2008 at Comedy Zoo in Copenhagen. The show is called “My first one man show”, which I think is an original title, and it's even factually correct. It could also have been called “My second one man show”, which would probably be a more original title, but still factually incorrect. I've chosen to write some of the synopsis myself in order to limit the number of adjectives and sales phrases, like the ones right after this text, because all I really want to say is: Hope you like the show and enjoy...
