This Live CD/DVD was filmed at Jason's Gratitude Café Tour date at the Charter One Pavilion - Chicago (August 13, 2009). 'JASON MRAZ'S BEAUTIFUL MESS - LIVE ON EARTH' features all of the old favorites as well as the hits Lucky (with a special guest appearance from Colbie Caillat), and I'm Yours from 'We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things.' The DVD, directed by Darren Doane, features the full length concert, never-before-seen bonus footage, and a special mockumentary titled 'un beau desordre'.

W.W. Bright is a robber with a heart of gold who travels the South knocking off banks and gas stations owned by a corrupt businessman. When he hijacks a car, he meets an aspiring country band, the Dixie Dancekings, led by Dixie. The two sides eventually take a liking to one another, especially after the Dancekings realize the size of Bright's thefts. Trailed by religious zealot cop Deacon Gore, Bright helps the band make it big while on the run.

About the band Filter's origins, as well as their tour in support of their first album Short Bus, interspersed with various interviews, performances, and music videos. The full title was originally going to be 'Filter - Phenomenology: 1,137 Days on the Short Bus', and while that title is still found on the footage itself, it is only slightly mentioned that way in the description on the back of the box. Star soprano Anna Netrebko created a sensation with her riveting performance as the malevolent Lady Macbeth, the central character in Verdi's retelling of Shakespeare's tragedy. She is joined by Željko Lučić, who brings dramatic intensity and vocal authority to the title role of the honest general driven to murder and deceit by his ambitious wife. The great René Pape is Banquo and Joseph Calleja gives a moving performance as Macduff. Adrian Noble's powerful production provides an ideal setting for this dark drama, which is masterfully presided over by Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi.
