He gets one as a ship's orderly on a Dayliner, but tells his prospective father-in-law he's the Captain. They all show up on the ship, and Monte must keep the real Captain locked up, away from his fiancée and father.

Joe Penner, in this Vitaphone short (Vitaphon production number 1124)features his stock speech impediment acts sprinkled with some left-over "doughboy" comedy from World War One. He also gets some flirting bits with dancer Joan Carter Waddell.

The first of a very short series, since it would become a TV series in 1949, based on the radio program that ran on CBS from 1944 through 1949. The premise of the program was intended as a satire and parody version of the "intellecutual" quiz shows on radio in the 40's, such as "Information Please" and "The Quiz Kids."
