Take a Chance

In a futuristic city sharply divided between the rich and the poor, the son of the city's mastermind meets a prophet who predicts the coming of a savior to mediate their differences.

Victor Stowell, son of the deemster of the Isle of Man, is engaged to Fenella Stanley. He becomes involved in an intrigue with local girl Bessie Collister, becomes the deemster on his father's death, and is forced to try Bessie for killing her illegitimate child.

In this animated short, a terrible curse deprives Balthasar's kingdom of its stories. Taking the unicorn's horn back into The Belly of the Earth is the solution. Poppety will lead an expedition, by chance uncovering a hitherto closely guarded family secret.

Snub, the delivery man, and his assistant, Sunny, are returning from a delivery when they almost run over a lost woman. After she asks for directions, they accompany the woman to a dance school, where Snub is mistaken for the new professor.

Out of the three-part burlesque, the only surviving one is the one called Pufi would buy a pair of shoes, with Hungarian inserts. The film is shot on a real-life location, in a Budapest shoe shop, and it portrays the mutual efforts of a puny sales assistant and Pufi, the bladder-of-lard customer, to find him a suitable pair of shoes. The content of the other two parts is not known.

Mairy, a thirty-year-old woman from Philippines, works in a village in Cyprus. She takes care of Mr. Michalis, an eigthy-five-year-old man with arteriosclerosis. Daisy Baroness Eggloffsburg, a ball of energy, is a spoiled and rather lively, cheerful wild child who is always in the mood for pranks. Her uncle Egon, a stern old gentleman, thinks she has had enough of her foolishness and boozy ideas and needs a man to tell her off and tame Daisy. Harry Spring, the young sportsman hired for the job, is supposed to get both the girl and Baron Eggloffsburg, the owner of the racing stable, back on their feet. But Daisy doesn't give in so easily and now begins to give the young gallant a good grooming.

Harry Peltzer, who is passionate about his job as a firefighter, and his superior, fire chief Paul Körner, are the best of friends. This changes the day they both meet Nelly, a young, blonde cashier at a vending machine buffet, on whom both men immediately set their eyes. As Harry has a much better chance with Nelly, Paul's friendship with him soon turns into bitter antagonism, if not outright enmity.
