Holmes goes on the trail of a Rembrandt painting, stolen by a drug-addicted artist.

After being defeated in a fight by a local gang, local official Lu Fengyang sends his weak and sickly son Lu Xiaoqing to study with a master of the Kunlun school of martial arts. Recovered and strong, he comes upon the Red Lotus Temple, and puts up there for the night. Unable to sleep, he begins looking around the palatial temple, and discovers a room decorated with many images of Buddhist demons, and an altar to worship them... Purposely destroyed serial film whose 19 full length chapters (averaging 86 minutes each) originally ran 27 hours in length.

In Corsica, Marianna Paoli's brother is killed by an Englishman whose identity is unknown to her. She swears vengeance and tracks the killer to Monte Carlo. There she falls in love with a handsome young officer, only to discover that he is the murderer she has sworn to punish.

The story is laid in Italy, during the 17th century, and concerns itself with the love and suffering of David, a great painter. Unknown to David, his betrothed has a brother in prison, and his shame is kept hidden for the honor of the family. This brother, escaping from his cell, goes by night to his sister's room. David, coming to serenade her, sees the brother leave her window; thinking her false, casts her off, and she is too proud to tell him the truth. David, heartbroken, goes to a monastery to seek refuge from the world in seclusion. While there, he learns the truth. A great revulsion of feeling takes place in his heart. A mock sees his grief and begs him seek solace in painting a masterpiece for the altar. This he does, but is stricken to the heart. Gianetta on her way to church sees him weak and ill, crossing the plaza. She follows to his studio in the church. There they come to understand each other, but too late.

Aurora Lane (Bessie Barriscale) lives in a small town loaded with small-minded residents. She had an illegitimate child and with the earnings from her millinery shop, she has sent him away to be educated. When Don, her son (Arnold Gregg), returns from college, he finds he has to defend his mother constantly. He is accused of murdering a man who made a snide remark about Aurora and is put on trial.

The daily lives and struggles of a group of workers in a small German town. They face poverty, unemployment, and various hardships, but also find moments of hope and solidarity. The film portrays their efforts to survive and support each other in difficult economic conditions.

His actions sparked immediate outrage among the villagers, further inflamed when he and the young woman attended church together that Sunday. Fortunately, the town's minister was a man of genuine faith, and through his tireless efforts, the outcast found acceptance and a place within the community.

Tom Allen, a hardworking young miner. He cautions his wife, Beatrice, about the presence of a "worthless chap" named Joe Hills, who frequently loiters around their cabin. Hills subsequently steals Allen's gold, and Beatrice discovers him in the act.

Jimmie and Molly are a pair of sibling thieves-he a burglar, she a shoplifter. When Jimmie is arrested after a bungled job, he advises Molly to move somewhere new and follow the straight and narrow, which she does. However, when Jimmie participates in a jailbreak, he makes a beeline to disrupt her new life. A chance for escape presents itself but Molly pleads with Jimmie to surrender pointing out he’ll never be at peace if he doesn’t. Jimmie relents. His term served, Molly and Jim resolve to lead honest lives and their reformation is complete.

Big Elk and Che-wee-na, both of the Great Bear tribe, are engaged to be married. White Wolf, the son of the chief of another tribe, offers to buy Che-wee-na; when her father refuses, Little Wolf challenges Big Elk to a physical contest that Big Elk wins. Embittered, Little Wolf provokes a war between the tribes, abducting Che-wee-na while Big Elk and the other Great Bear warriors are away from their camp. Che-wee-na feigns insanity among Little Wolf's people, who think that she is in communication with the great spirits. She wins the gratitude of the tribe when she nurses a sick child to health, but in so doing incurs the jealousy of the tribe's medicine man, who accuses her of poisoning the tribe's water supply.

After Outlaw Slippery Joe robs a miner and his daughter, a sheriff pursues him. While on the outlaw’s trail, the sheriff finds the miner's horse, abandoned by the outlaw, and notices the resemblance between Slippery Joe and Mr. Bond, a man he had encountered earlier who was searching for his twin brother. The miner and his daughter arrive at the ranger's cabin, recognizing Bond as the robber.

Chester Rowe commits a robbery and murder, then flees to the mountains where he meets and falls in love with Lottie Toby. Lottie's father receives news of $1,000 awaiting him at the post office. Rowe, aware of this, attempts to rob Mr. Toby. Disabled local youth Oliver comes upon the theft in process, he and Toby simultaneously shoot Rowe, resulting in his death. Oliver, believing he killed Rowe, hides the body. Toby's helper, Jack, finds Toby injured by a bullet wound. The sheriff wrongly accuses Jack of assaulting Toby. Oliver confesses to killing Rowe, and Jack is proven innocent.

The secluded life of sturdy young lighthouse-keeper Robert and his wife Anna is interrupted by a visit from a stranger, Harry Nelson, a sportsman and novelist in search of adventure. They give him a hearty welcome, and while Robert goes to catch a mess of fish for dinner, Anna entertains the stranger with a tour of the lighthouse and the jagged cliffs surrounding it. In return Nelson tells Anna stories of his life in the city.

Steven Brooks, a young man who finds himself entangled in a complicated situation involving his wife, Mrs. Steven Brooks, and another woman named Nell. The relationships and events that unfold ultimately test Steven's resolve and character, leading to a dramatic conclusion.
