When Natsume Atsuko, nicknamed Nuku Nuku, comes to live with Ryounosuke's family, he falls in love instantly. After all, to all appearances, she's a beautiful, normal - if slightly ditzy - teenage girl. The story is set in the future where humanity and the Z/X have entered a treaty and headed towards a moment of peace. There is also Yasunari Tsuru, Natsusa's junior who finds him disagreeable. On the other hand, another junior, Yuu Mashiro looks up to Natsusa and follows in his footsteps. Last, there is Seiichirou Shingyouji, Natsusa's childhood best friend. This is an original rugby anime of former teammates who fight together in matches of Kansai's university rugby league.

The "I.Cinnamoroll" brand depicts an alternate world that poses a what-if question: What if Cinnamoroll had not met the Cafe Cinnamon worker on that fateful day? The "I" in the title stands for both the English first-person pronoun "I" and the Japanese word "ai" (love), and it represents the brand's theme of taking care of one's own body and mind.
