Unable to pay for her passage upon setting sail to the tropics to meet her mail-order husband, Dorothy Ryan assumes the identity of a wealthy passenger who is presumed dead. Enjoying the preferential treatment she receives; Dorothy continues the masquerade when she arrives at her destination. She forgets all about her husband-to-be and falls for local aristocrat John Rice (Larry Kent). The party ends when the woman whom Dorothy is pretending to be suddenly shows up, very much alive and incredibly angry. Disgraced in the eyes of John's family, Dorothy wanders into the jungle only to be captured by natives and sentenced to be burned at the stake. Will true love John be able to rescue her in time?

Jack Pepper accidentally fires his gun while forcing a newspaper editor to retract his statement regarding Miss Tulip Hellier, and the sheriff goes after Jack. While hiding out, Jack finds a liquor cache on the Hellier ranch and knows it was placed there as a ruse to distract the sheriff while an outlaw gang runs dope across the border.

Rex Radcliffe, vice president of the Northern Atlantic Railroad, is opposed by company president William Harding in his desire to put over a deal that would jeopardize the stockholders of the Interstate Railroad. Using thought control, he causes Weer, Harding's discharged secretary, to murder his ex-boss. Weer is arrested for the murder. Radcliffe then puts Harding's daughter, Helen, also under his influence. John Bonham, Interstate president, becomes interested in the case, and with the aid of Mrs. Weer he exposes Radcliffe, who then commits suicide.

But the intervention of Kate Fallon, who runs the gang's New York home, saves the innocent and traps the guilty. Instead of tricking Lake, Doris marries him.
