On the surface, this collection of shorts by up-and-coming African American filmmakers arrived at a perfect time. The cutting-edge products of the New Black Cinema of the early '90s had disappeared, giving way to embarrassingly stereotypical, scatological fare such as Booty Call and Next Friday. This feature-packed compilation (which includes production notes, interviews with all of the filmmakers, and audio commentary by four) attempts to prove that African American cinema is intent on moving past the lowbrow humor, as six of the seven shorts steer clear of any comedy.

'Onnum Onnum Moonu' is directed by Abhilash SB and the film is written by Fais Umer. Cinematography is by Santhosh K Lal and music by Muralee Krishna and Shibu Joseph with lyrics by Philipose Thathampally and Santhosh Kodanadu.

Aana Mayil Ottakam is an anthology film. This is not really very common in Malayalam industry. But this concept is going on since ages and even legendary filmmakers like Satyajit Roy has tried this genre. It is always very interesting to see a collection of great short movies. You cannot get bored watching a movie like this. It is good to see that producers are interested in investing innovative concepts like this. Aana Mayil Ottakam is a compilation of short movies with some of the biggest names of Malayalam film industry.

In the film we also find a conversation about Woody Allen between a waitress and a woman, which goes too far; and two high-class escorts who discover that they are attracted to each other, when they are in bed with a client.
