A scientist and his young daughter are taken hostage by a group of terrorists inside a power plant in Old Mexico. One of the terrorists happens to have captured the legendary "El Chupacabra" and set it loose in the power plant.

The film deals with the criminal case involving Marianne Bachmeier, who shot her daughter's murderer in the courtroom in 1981.

Marie, the charming daughter of Italian immigrants, has a dream : to become rich. In Roubaix, where she lives, she meets and marries small-time crooner Marcel Potier.
