A film crew arrives in Georgia’s mountainous Khevsureti region. Lali Mindeli, a famous pop singer and film star who wants to know more about her character, walks around in traditional Khevsurian costume and rides horses. During the making of the film, she meets Vakhtang, but instead of introducing herself she tells him that she is Lali’s twin sister. Vakhtang falls in love and says he is ready to move to Khevsureti, making Lali realize that she’s playing a risky game with him.

Moishe Oysher, the renowned cantor and star of Yiddish radio, stars in Edgar G. Ulmer’s musical version of David Pinski’s play Yankl der Shmid. Singing, dancing, and flashing his eyes, Oysher gives his most robust performance as a passionate shtetl blacksmith who must struggle against temptation to become a mensch. Recently rediscovered footage makes this the most complete extant version of Ulmer’s lively folk operetta, replete with an example of Yiddish swing.
The music video of the song is an elaborate performance of the band dancing on treadmills in a single continuous take.
