WHAT YOU MEAN WE is a surreal short film by experimental artist Laurie Anderson.

Inventive performer and poignant songwriter John Hiatt captures the attention of fans and critics alike. In this Soundstage performance, which features Dar Williams and Robinella and the CCstringband, Hiatt performs "My Baby Blue" from his most recent album Beneath This Gruff Exterior. He also showcases timeless pieces like "The Thing Called Love" and "Memphis in the Meantime."

A film crew arrives in Georgia’s mountainous Khevsureti region. Lali Mindeli, a famous pop singer and film star who wants to know more about her character, walks around in traditional Khevsurian costume and rides horses. During the making of the film, she meets Vakhtang, but instead of introducing herself she tells him that she is Lali’s twin sister. Vakhtang falls in love and says he is ready to move to Khevsureti, making Lali realize that she’s playing a risky game with him.

The David Lynch Foundation celebrates its 10th anniversary with an exploration of the director's use of immersive and ambient sound in his films, "Twin Peaks," and his original albums. This tribute concert features performances by Duran Duran, Moby, Donovan and Zola Jesus, among others.

Moishe Oysher, the renowned cantor and star of Yiddish radio, stars in Edgar G. Ulmer’s musical version of David Pinski’s play Yankl der Shmid. Singing, dancing, and flashing his eyes, Oysher gives his most robust performance as a passionate shtetl blacksmith who must struggle against temptation to become a mensch. Recently rediscovered footage makes this the most complete extant version of Ulmer’s lively folk operetta, replete with an example of Yiddish swing.

The music video of the song is an elaborate performance of the band dancing on treadmills in a single continuous take.

The film is an unprecedented and exclusive testimonial of Maria Bethânia from director and screenwriter Carlos Jardim, interspersed with rare footage of rehearsals and concerts by the singer throughout her 57-year career. Actress Fernanda Montenegro narrates five texts by authors such as Ferreira Gullar and Caio Fernando Abreu about Bethânia's importance on the Brazilian cultural scene.
