Takeru Tenkuuji, the son of a ghost hunter, is murdered by the evil Ganma and resurrected by a mysterious hermit and bestowns upon him the Ghost Driver and a Ghost Eyecon, an orb-shaped device which can see ghostly creatures like spirits of dead creatures, Ganma, and other Riders. The hermit tells Takeru that he has 99 days to gather 15 additional heroic Eyecons to be brought back to life permanently, and must fight the Ganma as Kamen Rider Ghost to obtain them.

Gao Liang and Gu Yi Ye are good friends and rivals since they joined the army. They fall in love with the same girl, Jiang Nan Zheng. However, Gu Yi Ye eventually gives up his love in the name of friendship and marries A Xiu, the daughter of their old squad leader who died in a war. As time passes, Gao Liang not only stays true to his heart but also shoulders the duties and mission of a soldier. In 2003, Gao Liang and Jiang Nan Cheng got married and formed a happy family. In 2008, Gao Liang, who returns from further studies in Russia, was transferred to be the acting brigade commander of the Blue Army because of an observation report.

In a multidimensional domain, Poon Siu-yu enters the second dimension after her death in the first dimension, i.e. the mortal realm. She then joins Office of the Life Authority and becomes a novice “destiny administrator”. Siu-yu has to keep a close watch on food courier Chan Pei-ho, who is in the mortal realm. Pei-ho earns a meager living regardless of the weather. But his family members just do not care about him. He is already overwhelmed by life pressures, and he is also jinxed by “bad spirit” Siu-yu while doing his job. Siu-yu gradually sympathizes with Pei-ho. This duo has become myth-busting hoax detectives, using their wits and knowledge of contemporary science to expose scammers for what they really are and show that what many people mistakenly believe are supernatural spirits are actually smoke-and-mirror tricks from con artists. But when what at first glance seems to be the powers of darkness threaten to bring terror and death to the residents of a city, the duo must step up their crime-fighting activities. Things get a little more interesting for Kong Xue Li, too, when he meets a sassy and beautiful no-nonsense restaurant owner. Can this trio put an end to the violence and ghoulish terror that has the city in its grips?
