A Teacher's Obsession

'Le cas Perrot' depicts a dreamlike world in a realist manner. It was shot with amateur teenagers in the style of a documentary in order to make fantastical contents seem naturalist. It was hence written and directed adhering to the logic that the brain adopts during sleep.

Eva Örn is a newly graduated teacher, who becomes a school teacher in rural Vikarlunda. She is a beautiful young woman with firm opinions and she does not live up to the locals' picture of the ideal female teacher. She has an affair with the pastor, Ingvar Hagson, but they have to keep their love a secret.

Cautionary anti-drug film based on a true story about the effects on Jean Stapleton and Arthur Hill when their teenage son (John Putch, Stapleton's real-life son) gets spaced out on a marijuana joint laced with PCP, or "angel dust," and the family is forced to wrestle with the crisis.
