The original format is 8mm film (single8), and once the developed film is incompletely layered on the undeveloped film, it is projected onto a curtain swaying in the wind by shining light at an angle with a penlight. Created an effect.

Bolivian artist and filmmaker Luciana Decker Orozco delves into ancient and essential acts: eating, masticating and digesting. Her suggestive celluloid slips through mouths, intestines and entrails, as well as experiments in the catacombs of the human being and the Earth. Inspired by the avant-gardist and indigenist Peruvian writer Gamaliel Chumata, the surface and the underground, the real and the extraordinary, mysteriously merge together.

“Bridge” follows César Rojas, an artisanal fisherman from the Peruvian coast, as he reveals his daily routine, his spiritual relationship with the sea, and the resilience of a craft that endures despite modernization. Through observation, voice-over, and his own testimony, the documentary builds an intimate portrait in which the sea becomes a mirror of humanity.

In early 2020, MUTA - International Festival of Audiovisual Appropriation and Cine Íntimo rescued and digitised a Peruvian archive of orphaned 8mm and Super 8 home movies. With the aim of restoring these lost memories, we sent the images around the world. This omnibus film is the result of the intervention of this material, by 14 experimental filmmakers. Swimming Lessons is a machinima film unfolding within Google Maps. Through confessional verse, the narrator maps the sites of a former relationship and its aftermath, using digital cartography to revisit and process desire and shame.

The animation, music, and optical printing of Kitsch in Synch was produced by Beckett and the students in two classes he was teaching at CalArts. Although a group project, it is clear that Beckett was the director. The playful, catchy soundtrack is used to create a cycle of building tension and release. The brightly colored shapes create approximate symmetrical formations and become more densely layered, with glimpses of iconographic objects and even live footage near the end.
