Huang Da-wang , an extravaganza from Taiwan sound/ performance art scene, is also known as Black Wolf or Yingfan-Psalmanazar. He has developed a distinctive style of improvisation and electronic noise, and has a unique performance - the "Black Wolf Nakashi" show. This film follows him in the city, from sound to body, from bedroom to ruins.

The abandoned farmhouse beside Shuangxi outside Taipei seems to be wandering on the edge of the city. This is the base of Ruiming Band. During the day, these people have their own identities. The lead guitarist Zheng Zhaoting (Abo) is in the daycare class, the bassist Yang Dongliang (Dong Niang) is a photojournalist, the drummer Han Ligang has no specific job, and the rhythm guitar player Dai Chongyuan (Senior) drives a taxi. Every night on holiday, they come here to rehearse. With their dreams of music, they relieve their discomfort with society. Can music be a meal? Is there any other meaning to life besides making money? The director fell into this fog with them, revealing nihilistic yet true confessions.

Four artists decide to invite their parents to play the parts of dissidents in 1980s Taiwan. To get prepared for the performance, the artists show the actors footage from that time, initiating the discussion of arts and politics. Although none of them were involved in the event, they are still caught up in the story as well as their own past…

Interspersed throughout the documentary are narrative film sequences featuring the children as actors.

The film traces the journey of Stephanie Nyombayire, a young Rwandan anti-genocide activist who teams up with Sir Martin Gilbert, the renowned Holocaust historian, to travel across 15 countries and three continents interviewing survivors and descendants of the diplomats who rescued tens of thousands of Jews from the unspeakable horrors of the Nazi death camps. While Nyombayire embarks upon this quest in an effort to uncover potential solutions for the ongoing genocide in Darfur and elsewhere, what emerges from their journey is more a testament to the ways in which the inherent good in the human spirit can trump institutional evil no matter what the circumstance.

The Delano Manongs tells the story of farm labor organizer Larry Itliong and a group of Filipino farm workers who instigated one of the American farm labor movement’s finest hours – The Delano Grape Strike of 1965 that brought about the creation of the United Farm Workers Union (UFW). While the movement is known for Cesar Chavez’s leadership and considered a Chicano movement, Filipinos played a pivotal role. Filipino labor organizer, Larry Itliong, a cigar-chomping union veteran, organized a group of 1500 Filipinos to strike against the grape growers of Delano, California, beginning a collaboration between Filipinos, Chicanos and other ethnic workers that would go on for years.

Shrill, loud, colorful and fun - that's what Neue Deutsche Welle stands for. Songs like "Ich will Spaß", "Sternenhimmel" and "99 Luftballons" are still a must at any good party today. Yet the songs are already over 30 years old - just like the movement itself. The wave spilled over into Germany at the end of the 70s. For a long time, German musicians copied what was happening in the USA or Great Britain. There were hardly any German-speaking pop stars at the time. Inspired by punk, German musicians began to experiment at the beginning of the eighties: initially, the music was still characterized by cool synthesizer sounds and provocative lyrics.

A group of ancient Tibetan nomads live in the Qilian Mountains in western China. Their home is a tent made of yak hair. They change their location with the seasons — to allow their cattle and sheep to eat the best grass, while protecting the vegetation of the pasture. They stick to their traditional beliefs. The women chant scriptures from time to time while turning prayer wheels. In the evening, devout rituals are performed in front of small portraits of the Panchen Lama and the Dalai Lama. During migration, the families help each other pack their belongings and load them onto yaks; they ride horses, sing pastoral songs, and drive cattle and sheep along the ancient nomadic route. This film documents their journey — from the spring to the autumn. It is a spiritual and a practical life: Sheep are exchanged for yaks, wool for tea, fried noodles for money. Every cloud over the mountain has a divine nature; the sun and the moon are the Panchen Lama and the Dalai Lama. (Shot June 1995.)
