Euphoria: A Look Back

A documentary about the making of Jane Campion's 'The Portrait of a Lady'.

In 1964, Henri-Georges Clouzot's production of L'Enfer came to a halt. Despite huge expectations, major studio backing and an unlimited budget, after three weeks the production collapsed. This documentary presents Inferno's incredible expressionistic original rushes, screen tests, and on-location footage, whilst also reconstructing Clouzot's original vision, and shedding light on the ill-fated endeavor through interviews, dramatizations of unfilmed scenes, and Clouzot's own notes.

This one hour TV special promoting the release of Can't Stop the Music featured the film's stars (The Village People, Valerie Perrine, Steve Guttenberg and Bruce Jenner) with guest appearances by Cher, Hugh Hefner and others.

Chapter One of this anthology embarks on a journey into the world of filmmaking, pulling back the curtain to reveal the complexities, passions, and human connections that fuel the creative process.
