THE AMERICAN EXPERIENCE presents Nixon’s China Game, the story of an operation so secret that it managed to elude the international press, the members of Nixon’s cabinet, and even the US State Department. For their revenge, they send up a model airplane filled with gingerbread men with parachutes; Donald shoots it down, and cowers in fear when he sees the parachutes (and hears a simulated battle), until one lands on his beak. Donald kicks his nephews out until he mistakes a bee for an airplane, and calls them back to fight this menace.

What lies hidden beneath Moscow? Subway palaces full of Soviet propaganda, Stalin's magnificent bunkers, centuries-old river systems. For decades, there have been repeated clues, cryptic statements and hints about Moscow's underground. The cinematic search for clues shows Stalin's command bunker and the government object GO-42, a headquarters of the Soviet military during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. A residential house with potted plants and curtains was built over GO-42 as camouflage. Until the end of the Cold War, specially trained soldiers took care of the bourgeois residential charm and turned on the lights in the evening while 2,000 people threatened the world around the clock with intercontinental missiles. The documentary also shows encounters with the illegal explorers of these complex transportation and housing systems, the Diggers.

Red Terror documents the soviet occupation of Lithuania and the resistance movements that sprang up in opposition to the brutal tactics used by the communists from 1941 up to 1991. Stories of deportation, life in the Gulag, exile to Siberia, KGB prison torture, confiscation of land are told by living survivors. Resistance fighters and those who aided them also share their stories for the first time to an American audience. Rare historical photos and moving images are used to bring these stories to life.

The first Japanese feature-length animated film. It was directed by Mitsuyo Seo, who was ordered to make a propaganda film for the war by the Japanese Naval Ministry. Shochiku Moving Picture Laboratory shot the 74-minute film in 1944 and screened it on April 12, 1945. It is a sequel to Momotarō no Umiwashi, a 37-minute film released in 1943 by the same director. It is black and white. The whole movie also depicts the Japanese "liberation of Asia", as proclaimed by the Government at the time. Seo tried to give dreams to children, as well as to instill the hope for peace, with hidden movie's hints of dreams and hopes, under the appearance of war propaganda.
