Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Le général Henri Honoré Giraud, né le 18 janvier 1879 à Paris 13e et mort le 11 mars 1949 à Dijon (Côte-d'Or), est un militaire et homme politique français, général de brigade à partir de 1930, puis général d'armée à partir de 1936. Henri Giraud a servi durant la Première Guerre mondiale, la guerre du Rif et la Seconde Guerre mondiale ; dans le cadre de ce dernier conflit, il est considéré comme l'une des principales figures du processus qui a mené à la Libération. Partisan de la reprise de la lutte contre l'Allemagne nazie et sans lien avec la France libre, il reçut le soutien des Américains et fit figure de rival du général de Gaulle pour la direction des forcesalliées françaises. Après le débarquement allié de novembre 1942 et suite à la mort de l'amiral Darlan, Giraud fut durant plusieurs mois au pouvoir en Afrique française du Nord à la tête d'abord du Haut-commissariat de la France pour l'Afrique, puis du Commandement en chef français civil et militaire ; il eut sous ses ordres l'Armée d'Afrique, engagée aux côtés des Alliés dans les opérations contre les Allemandset les Italiens. Une partie de la Résistance intérieure se réclama également de son patronage et de son inspiration : ce fut notamment le cas des organisations résistantes initialement sympathisantes de Vichy, ou qui rejetaient l'autorité du général de Gaulle, comme le réseau Alliance ou l’Organisation de résistance de l'armée (ORA). Giraud maintint dans un premier temps en Afrique du Nord la législation de Vichy, mais fut ensuite convaincu par Jean Monnet de rompre définitivement avec Pétain. Les Alliés poussèrent Giraud et de Gaulle à s'entendre, pour unifier les forces françaises : de juin à novembre 1943, les deux généraux furent coprésidents du Comité français de Libération nationale(CFLN). Giraud fut cependant évincé par de Gaulle, qui le priva progressivement de toute responsabilité, politique puis militaire, au sein des forces alliées.

Marlies Dräger

Biography

Marlies Draeger's mother ran a fashion salon, Draeger herself worked first as an accountant, later as a model, and had topless photographs for the men's magazine Privat9. In the mid-1960s she took acting lessons in Göttingen and was engaged for first tasks in front of the camera by director Georg Tressler in his series Wenn die Musik nicht. During the filming in 1966, she met her colleague Michael Maien, with whom she lived for several months, until she entered into a long-term relationship with the Göttingen wood dealer Jürgen Roloff in November of the same year. In May 1970, Draeger appeared on the cover of the television magazine Hörzu. Her film and television career lasted until the mid-1970s, after which no further artistic activities can be determined, either on stage or in front of the camera. Among others, Marlies Draeger appeared in the Jerry Cotton film Dynamit in grüner Seide, in which she was dubbed by Traudel Haas, as well as in the Edgar Wallace film The Man with the Glass Eye.
