Sing Along with Mitch, airing on NBC from 1961 to 1964, was a weekly sing-along program hosted by Mitch Miller and featuring a male chorus. Lyrics were presented at the bottom of the television screen. Singer Leslie Uggams, pianist Dick Hyman, and the singing Quinto Sisters were regularly featured. One of the show's trademarks was the final number, a group sing-along with the regular house chorale, among whom would be an uncredited celebrity not necessarily known for their singing ability. As the popularity of the show rose, Miller produced and recorded several "Sing Along with Mitch" record albums.

NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen (ＮＨＫ紅白歌合戦, "NHK Red and White Song Battle"), more commonly known simply as Kouhaku, is an annual New Year's Eve television special held on December 31 every year, and produced by Japanese public broadcaster NHK. It is broadcast live simultaneously on NHK General TV, BS4K, BS8K and NHK radio (nationally) and internationally on NHK World Premium and some overseas (mainly cable) broadcasters who buy the program. The program divides the most popular music artists of the year into competing teams of red and white. The 'red' team or 'akagumi' (紅組) is composed of all female artists (or groups with female vocals), while the 'white' team or 'shirogumi' (白組) is all male (or groups with male vocals).

Un Paso Adelante was a Spanish TV drama similar to the American 1980’s TV series Fame. It was originally broadcast on Spanish channel Antena 3 from 2002 to 2005. During a concert by idol group Zwei Wing, an alien force known as the Noise attack the stage. Group members Tsubasa Kazanari and Kanade Amou suppress the attack using their Symphogear armor, but despite their best efforts, innocent bystander Hibiki Tachibana is fatally injured. Distraught and much to Tsubasa's dismay, Kanade sacrifices herself in the process to save Hibiki. Two years later, Hibiki lives on. Tsubasa now fights alone. With the threat of the Noise increasing, Hibiki finds herself encountering the Noise once again but this time she is granted a chance to become attuned with the same Symphogear that Kanade wielded.
