"Three friends, a small sailboat, forty-five young adults with cerebral palsy (CP)." At the age of twenty-seven, Brice, Eric, and Hervé, three friends who met at business school, set off on a round-the-world sailing trip aboard Kifouine, a small eight-meter sailboat not really designed for long-distance sailing. It was an extraordinary human adventure that lasted three years, which they shared with forty-five young adults with cerebral palsy from the PASSErAILE center in the Paris region, who also dreamed of setting sail. Every day, the sailors kept them updated on their journey via their online stories. But above all, they invited them to join them in small groups to experience five major stops around the world with them. This is their travel journal...

Every day, at sunrise, the Sítio Porto Alegre School students arrive by boat for another school day. As Professor Rui seeks to catch the attention of the 3rd grade children, new principal Leidi and school boatman Raimundo try to solve the lack of fuel problem caused by the little money sent by the government. These are rainy days in Curralinho township, on Marajó Island, where a school community resists.

In the late 1960s, with the triumph of bilingualism and biculturalism, New Brunswick's Université de Moncton became the setting for the awakening of Acadian nationalism after centuries of defeatism and resignation. Although 40% of the province's population spoke French, they had been unable to make their voices heard. The movement started with students-sit-ins, demonstrations against Parliament, run-ins with the police - and soon spread to a majority of Acadians. The film captures the behind-the-scenes action and the students' determination to bring about change. An invaluable document of the rebirth of a people.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASDs) occur when a pregnant mother consumes an amount of alcohol that is detrimental to the developing fetus. These effects can sometimes be seen in physical appearances and can even manifest in violent tendencies. As these children grow up, the tendencies become more uncontrolled, leading to difficulties fitting into society. This film explores the lives of 4 adolescents with FASDs and the effects that prenatal alcohol exposure has had, and continues to have, on their journeys to finding independence, fulfillment, and understanding the world around them.

Director Lee Sin Yee reveals a deeply personal and reflective retelling of growing up with her brother who has autism. This autobiographical documentary explores her relationships with her sibling as they grow up together, yet separately. Interviewing her parents and interacting with her brother, she gives us an insight to her past and how she has come to understand her brother better.

“Special,” “Gifted,” “Different,”… Despite the vast inventory of words to describe children who are on the Autism Spectrum, we still understand so little about their worlds outside of the medical lens. In Our World follows 3 children in their day-to-day lives – swimming classes, horse-riding, music lessons, special moments with their parents and therapists – and so much more, converging into a narrative that spells hope. The documentary aims to reveal the intricacies of their world and perhaps pave the way for OUR world, and for both to coexist with empathy and kindness.

Yu Xiuhua was raised to hope for little from her life in the rural Chinese province of Hubei. At 19, Xiuhua’s mother encouraged her to marry a man nearly twice her age, fearful no one else would accept a wife with Xiuhua’s condition — cerebral palsy. But as her 20th anniversary approaches, Xiuhua’s poetry goes viral, and she becomes the voice of a rising feminist movement throughout China.
