Based on Edgar Lee Master's "Spoon River Anthology" from 1915, this is the story of Tom Merritt.

Dinner time in a remote home of a prairie family turns nightmarish when a band of blood spattered outlaws break through the front door in search of food, horses, and women. Nothing is as it seems in this constantly twisting genre bender.

The short tells the story of a drunkard going through alcohol withdrawal, as personified by the Devil. Director Bob Stenhouse takes what could be a dark subject and makes it a funny madcap romp.

Mack Sennett appears as a Native American in this film produced by the Biograph Company.

Fatty and Buster have a series of adventures trying to beat St. John, until they discover his one weakness: his ticklishness.
