In this film, Laerte conjugates the body in the feminine, and scrutinizes concepts and prejudices. Not in search of an identity, but in search of un-identities. Laerte creates and sends creatures to face reality in the fictional world of comic strips as a vanguard of the self. And, on the streets, the one who becomes the fiction of a real character. Laerte, of all the bodies, and of none, complicates all binaries. In following Laerte, this documentary chooses to clothe the nudity beyond the skin we inhabit.

Ballot Measure 9 was an anti-gay amendment proposed to Oregon voters in 1992 by the conservative group, Oregon Citizen's Alliance. This documentary goes behind the scenes of the fight to stop Measure 9. Zalman Shoshi, born in Haifa to Holocaust survivors, grew up in a home marked by violence and trauma. As a teenager, Zalman ran away from home and survived by working as a sex worker. Later, Zalman reinvented himself as Shoshi, Israel's first transgender celebrity, who was both revered and feared. Their path also led to Berlin: a divided city where Holocaust survivors reopened bars, brothels, and peep shows, and where Israeli trans women found both refuge and danger.

As a result of the Holocaust and later, AIDS, the male homosexual community has sustained bitter losses and, according to Praunheim, lesbian women have now placed themselves at the head of the so-called queer movement. The female protagonists in the film represent two different generations; they also incorporate the past and present status of homosexuals in society.
