Espace Projeté

An anthology of one-minute films created by 51 international filmmakers on the theme of the death of cinema. Intended as an ode to 35mm, the film was screened one time only on a purpose-built 20x12 meter public cinema screen in the Port of Tallinn, Estonia, on 22 December 2011. A special projector was constructed for the event which allowed the actual filmstrip to be burnt at the same time as the film was shown.

"Siddharth" arrives in the city with a burning determination to uncover the truth behind the tragic fate of his beloved brother, Pradip. Pradip, hailing from a Dalit family, had always been an advocate for goodness and kindness, which unfortunately made him a target for the cruelty of the upper-caste individuals in the city. As Siddharth delves deeper into the city's shadows, seeking vengeance against those responsible for his brother's suffering, the poignant story of Pradip's life and the heart-wrenching revelations about his fate begin to unravel through a series of flashbacks and discoveries.

The movie follows an unnamed internet hitman who, after one of his previous victims comes back to life, locks himself in his bathroom with a gun with one bullet to get away from the corpse that is outside his bathroom door that is banging on the door trying to get in! As time goes by he slowly starts going insane and starts talking to himself in one sided conversation while having weird dreams that seem to predict the future, he receives dog food and phone calls from a strange man with unexplained knowledge about everything named Mr. E, who discusses topics of morality, philosophy, and mysterious, all-powerful them, while asking to be let into the house!

A successful mod photographer in London whose world is bounded by fashion, pop music, marijuana, and easy sex, feels his life is boring and despairing. But in the course of a single day he unknowingly captures a death on film.

Number Two’ is an audio visual work which materializes the definite possibilities of sight and the existence of light in space with the drama in between image and sound as a reaction . It treats the surface of the film itself as a digital artefact that forms an image with a human intervention .It can be seen as an enlargement of a moment in time where form and space breaks inside an indefinite reality .

In a single, virtuoso 11 minute take, Barley takes us from lush sunsets. to beyond the green ray, and into the gloaming, into the heavy night's darkness, where we, transfixed, can do nothing but await the impending storm.
